Do you want to help create a safe and fair exam experience for all students at Dalarna University?
As an exam invigilator here, you are responsible for ensuring that the examination environment is calm and secure, and that the process is conducted in a legally sound manner. Your role is, therefore, very important.
Your workday as an exam invigilator
Your main tasks involve planning and preparing for exam sessions, as well as supervising students writing exams in physical halls and digital rooms online. In addition to paper-based exams, Dalarna University is increasingly conducting digital in-person exams, and this digital focus will become even more extensive in the future.
The role includes practical and administrative tasks related to exams, such as:
- conducting identity verification
- providing information before the exam (in both Swedish and English)
- assisting with exam submissions, both on paper and digitally
- providing some digital support in our digital exam tool Inspera and the learning platform Canvas.
Are you the person we are looking for?
As an exam invigilator, you should:
- have completed upper secondary education
- be communicative and comfortable speaking in front of large groups (in both Swedish and English)
- have a professional attitude
- be able to follow instructions and regulations
- have excellent teamwork skills
- have access to your own computer and a stable internet connection.
It is an advantage if you have:
- knowledge and experience of Office 365, Zoom, and Teams
The employment
The employment is a fixed-term position in the form of an intermittent contract. This means you are employed on an ad-hoc basis as needed and receive hourly compensation. Exam invigilators receive a fixed hourly wage. The number of hours worked varies per person and over time. Exams usually take place on weekdays during the day, but evenings and weekends may occur in exceptional cases. Work may take place both at Campus Falun and Campus Borlänge.
To work as an exam invigilator with us, you must first complete a mandatory exam invigilator training. After that, you will undergo a supervised shift where you shadow an experienced invigilator to learn how the job works in practice. You cannot combine the role of exam invigilator with being a student at Dalarna University.
